Relaunch of Feelgoodtees Store with Skreened

September 12th, 2009 admin Posted in Vegan T-shirts | No Comments »

I just started selling my vegan message t-shirts and tote bags through Skreened.

I chose Skreened because they are committed to our earth by only selling tees that are made here in the USA for fair wages (sweatshop-free). They also only print by demand, so very little is wasted and best of all, they print ONLY with non-toxic and eco-friendly water-based inks. I also like that they use minimal packaging to ship, so you don’t have to worry about tossing or recycling a bunch of extra stuff! That’s not all! Every month, SKREENED gives 10% of their profits to projects on Kiva.org. Kiva’s mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.

Yes, the t-shirts are a little more expensive than the cheap stuff that comes from China but it’s well worth pay a little more knowing that the tees aren’t made in sweat shop, are free of toxic formaldehyde and PVC prints.

Planet In Peril: Shark Finning

December 15th, 2008 admin Posted in Animal Cruelty | No Comments »

Just saw Planet in Peril. Everybody should see this fantastic documentary! I was angry, disturbed and shocked to hear about the shark finning practices. Fishermen just cut of fins to living sharks and dump them back into the sea: 100 million sharks are killed each year for these tiny fins! For what?

A traditional shark fin soup!

It’s a shame that the people who eat this shark fin soup don’t think about how it got into their plates! It’s a mindless tradition that will continue ’til there are no sharks left or people change laws and stop consuming it!

Check out StopSharkFinning.net, a  campaign to achieve a worldwide ban on shark finning. You can also sign petitions to ask Restaurants to stop serving shark fin soup – this one is for the NY area.

“The consequences of the decline in shark populations on ocean life are immense. The large shark species are “apex” predators, they are ecological stablisers, once they are gone, all hell will break loose. For example along the US East Coast where large sharks such as black tip and tiger sharks have been virtually elimated, there have been declines in shellfish numbers and a reduction in water quality (shellfish filter sea water). Populations of small sharks, rays and skates have increased rapidly, consuming shellfish at an unsustainable rate. If you remove apex predators from an ecosystem the result is the same as removing the foundations from a building – total collapse.” – StopSharkFinning.net.

Favorite Vegan Cookies

vegan cookies

I’ve tried many different cookies but this one is my all time favorite: Oncle Eddie’s Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Cookies. Once I start eating them I can’t stop, they are absolutely delicious. They’re not too sweet which I like! I usually store them in the freezer, they are even more yummy this way. Trust me, once you try them, you’ll be a Oncle Eddie’s Cookie addict forever.

Available at Wholefoods and other Health Food Stores in the LA area or online at Amazon.com.

I am proud to say that Animal Acres is selling my tees to raise money for their rescued farm animals. This is a dream come true! Nothing feels better than making a difference in the world by giving back!

Vegan Carrot Cake Ice Cream

good-karma-rice-cream.jpg

This is one of my favorite ice cream. I don’t digest soy ice cream well so I wanted to try a couple of rice-based ice creams. Good Karma’s Carrot Cake ice cream is absolutely delicious, better than any soy ice creams I tried. It’s hard not to overindulge. It’s made with sweet organic carrot juice, organic raisins, organic nutmeg and pieces of actual cake!

I also love the Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge! You gotta have to try them both!

Available at Whole Foods or other Health Food Stores.
